David Benson, MSW, LMSW, ACSW utilizes a unique approach in treating his clients.  David believes that therapy consists of more than "50 minutes a week sitting in an office."  David Benson makes himself available to his clients 24 hours a day.  Clients utilize the option of contacting David Benson through phone calls, text messaging and e-mails whenever they are in crisis, or are struggling with personal issues.  At EastShore Counseling Services, David strongly believes that this is a vital part of treatment that extends beyond the "50 minute sessions."  Feedback provided by clients, as well as their families have proved that this "personalized service" is very beneficial.

David Benson, MSW, LMSW, ACSW is a highly skilled Clinical Social Worker with extensive adult, child and adolescent treatment experience in outpatient and inpatient/residential settings.

His practice specializes in children and adolescent issues, such as; ADHD, Conduct Disorder, Depression, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Anxiety, Grief and Loss, Foster and Adoptive Placements (separation), and Inappropriate Sexual Behavior. David has many years of experience working in adolescent detention facilities with adjudicated adolescents and children removed from their homes.

David Benson, MSW, LMSW, ACSW's history includes an extensive background of working with adults that suffer from Depression, Bipolar Disorder, PTSD, ADHD, Anxiety Disorders/Phobias, Relationship Difficulties and Marital Counseling.  Mr. Benson's experience also includes working at Henry Ford Cottage Hospital in the Inpatient Psychiatric Unit.  Additionally, Mr. Benson worked in the Emergency Room at St. John Providence Hospital assessing patients' psychiatric needs.  Mr. Benson also worked part-time at Harbor Oaks Hospital in the Psychiatric Unit.  David Benson treated the most severe patients suffering from Major Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder and Psychosis. 

Mr. Benson implements a comprehensive, innovative treatment approach utilizing Cognitive Behavioral techniques, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), as well as collaboration/referral to psychiatrists when needed. David also maintains frequent contact with the parents of minor clients through phone calls and e-mails.

He is available for trainings, lectures and court assessments.
